Hi! Which channel should be used to discuss an issue with github.com/ory/dockertest ?
m
Hello @narrow-fireman-6751 you can use #C02PSRUGUAV, but dockertest is kind of on life-support at the moment, so nothing planned in terms of improvements/bugfixes. I'll try my best to answer any questions though.
n
Thanks. I posted there. What you mean by 'kind of on life-support' ? Is that the same as 'end of life'?
f
Life support generally means it's only getting updates if there's a security vulnerability or is majorly necessary, otherwise it's not getting new features. Bare minimum maintenance
m
Yes Raygen's explanation is correct. I'll try to get a bit more "official" statement regarding the status and future of dockertest soon! Probably early next year since vacation/crunch time is coming up...
n
will you accept PRs at all?
m
I can't really say at the moment as the people maintaining dockertest are out on vacation for some time. Once they are back I will see to start a discussion on how we can best handle dockertest going forward. There are several options, and personally I would like to see it stewarded by the community - meaning we allow contributors outside of Ory as maintainers etc. - but ultimately it's not my call. tl;dr: not until we made a decision how we handle dockertest
n
okay, clear. Thanks.

For some more context: dockertest is alive and well and will continue seeing updates, if only because it is used in all Ory products everywhere. I will say that it's feature set is frozen at the moment. But it will hopefully continue working for a long time.

Hey @narrow-fireman-6751 following up, I had a chat with the maintainers and I think Arne summarized it nicely 👍
