would be nice if this community can move to zulip, the inability to search beyond 90 days is mildly infuriating. Trying to access the archive (archive.ory.sh) and the "linen bot" is flagging my residential IP as a "bot"

Hey @fast-lifeguard-97480 thanks for the feedback and sorry for the frustration. The archive is the intended workaround for this limitation of Slack's free plan. I think zulip would also not be a valid alternative, since their free plan also is restricted to 10k messages of search history and paying 6$ per user per month is not realistic for this free forum (more than 500k/yearly). ultimately there are a lot of personal preferences with chat platforms. We started out on gitter, then moved to Discord, then to Slack. Personally I like Discord as well, but Slack served most of our users well so far. weird that you can't access the Archive, could you share maybe some error message or something that I can pass on to the linen team? they probably have issues with ai bots scraping nowadays and are more aggressively blocking.

as of today, a single instance zulip is more than enough. As for the archive, I did reach out to the group that manages the "linen bot". They eventually removed/relaxed the rule(s) that was causing legitimate users to get blocked. I have been able to access older messages since then.

Cool thanks for following up Darren! I agree that selfhosting Zulip would be a nice solution, but I'm not sure if we have the capacity to selfhost this at the moment. However I will take a deeper look, maybe it's easier than I thought. We did host Discourse in the past and retired it because the maintenance work was too much. We could revisit some time
