The details surrounding the bugfix are as follows: I'm using Kratos to send OTP emails to users. I'm working on refactoring my Kratos integration to send messages to my email provider using HTTP instead of SMTP. After switching to HTTP, I noticed that sending messages in bursts is quite a bit slower than when I was using SMTP.
This appears to be caused by a logic error in the Kratos courier code where HTTP connections are not reused by subsequent messages. This issue has already been resolved and the fix was merged into master via this commit:
github.com/ory/kratos/commit/…. However, the latest release of Kratos does not contain this fix.
