Hi folks, I have some questions about the self-service endpoints • What’s the difference between
/self-service/login/browser
and
/self-service/registration/browser
? From my understanding they both behave the same way. If the account does not exist it will create a new account, otherwise it will just set the cookie. • Can I configure the
/self-service/login/browser
so that if returns error if the account does not exist? Thanks !

Hey @mysterious-balloon-83741 How are you using Ory at the moment (network, selfhosting, what UI), and what auth methods? AFAIK the account experience creates an account using the other API if you login and it does not exist. But the APIs are completely different! It is just handled by the UI in the background. I am not completely sure though…

I’m using self hosting and our own UI with google, apple, and microsoft
AFAIK the account experience creates an account using the other API if you login and it does not exist.
yes that’s my assumption, but can I configure it such that the login api does not call register api if the account does not exist?

Hey, since you are using your own UI you should be able to configure it there 🤔

I checked from our UI we only call
/self-service/login/browser
but it automatically calls
/self-service/registration/browser
if the account does not exist (I don’t see this behaviour defined anywhere in our code/config, just the actual execution 🤔 )
